Zetland and Maroubra Substation Roof Replacement
Girri Birrang, collaborating with Diona, undertook the replacement of roofing at the Zetland and Maroubra substations. This project was part of a series of upgrades to ensure the operational safety and reliability of substations in the Sydney metropolitan and Hunter region.
Client: Diona
End Client: Ausgrid
Location: Sydney, NSW
Project Duration: 2018 - 2019

Project Need
The initiative was driven by Ausgrid’s commitment to maintaining operational safety in its electricity distribution networks. The old tile roofs of the substations were prone to damage, leading to potential water leaks and security concerns, necessitating their replacement.
Our Focus
Coordinating replacement of the old roofs in phases, ensuring minimal disruption to substation operations.
Implementing safety measures during the demolition of existing structures and installation of new roofing.
Managing complex tasks like asbestos removal and ensuring roof watertightness throughout the project.
Our Objectives
Carry out roof replacement with strict adherence to safety standards, particularly considering the live electrical environment of the substations.
Ensure new roofing provides long-term protection against environmental elements and enhances security of the substations.
Complete project efficiently, meeting Ausgrid’s standards and timelines without compromising on safety or quality.
