Backing the Next Generation – Indigenous Round with Orange United Warriors

Each year, the Indigenous Round brings people together in a way that goes deeper than the game. It’s about culture, pride, and backing the next generation.

This was our second year supporting the Orange United Warriors, and we were proud to be part of it again. Michael Dodgson represented Girri Birrang on the day, presenting jerseys to the Youth, Ladies and Men’s teams – a small gesture that carried real meaning.

Reflecting on the day, Michael shared:

“It was an honour to be part of something that celebrates identity – both on and off the field. You could see the pride in every player. That’s what makes these rounds matter.”

Our connection to the Warriors came through work we’d done in Lake Cargelligo, where we’ve stayed in touch with the Local Aboriginal Land Council. That introduction grew into something ongoing – and that’s how we like to work.

At Girri Birrang, we back our words with action. If you’re looking to partner with a business that walks alongside community – and can help meet your Indigenous procurement commitments along the way – we’d love to hear from you.

Where connection leads, we follow through.
