In partnership with Diona, Girri Birrang played a key role in the renewal of the Johnstons Creek stormwater channel. Our joint efforts aimed to revitalise the creek, transforming it into a healthy and engaging waterway for community enjoyment.

Project Need
As one of Sydney's earliest purpose-built stormwater drains, Johnstons Creek is a critical infrastructure piece. Our task in partnership with Diona, was to modernise it while preserving its historical and ecological importance.
Our Focus
Reconstructing the stormwater channel's concrete base.
Rebuilding the channel walls into natural, stabilised banks with native flora and sandstone.
Expanding the salt marsh and developing a wetland for stormwater treatment.
Replacing an existing footbridge and ensuring seamless public access during construction.
